Show of hands. Who’s excited for F This Movie Fest 2? Trick question, I can’t see your hands on the Internet. DOUBLE trick question. The answer is obviously “everybody.” Look, I’m not in the business of picking a favorite movie from 1991, partly because there are so many good ones to choose from, and partly because no one is offering to pay me. That’s how business works. TRIPLE trick question.

Riske Business: Movie Memories of 1991
I was 9 years old in 1991. 9-year old Adam had impeccable tastes and here were his top 10 movies. If you disagree, then you may be a stupid head who eats boogers.

Captain’s Log: Stardate 12.6.1991. The original five year mission of the USS Enterprise has long since ended. In the twenty five years since televisions first aired the adventures of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, the franchise has reached worldwide fandom, spawning toys, trading cards, scores of novels, fan fiction, costumes, and a mostly-successful series of movies on the big screen. But twenty five years is a long time for one cast to keep the candle burning, and it has brought infighting, resentment, multiple hairpieces, and fewer and fewer places to boldly go where no man has gone before.

My Favorite Movie of 1991 (Alex's Take)
Or...So, What Really Happened That Day?: JFK and the Pursuit of Truth
For the longest time, I thought JFK was an attempt to shed light on the murder of the 35th president of the United States, an uncrackable mystery that probably grows less and less likely to be revealed as each decade passes.

My Favorite Movie of 1991 (Adam Riske's Take)
Sometimes a movie finds you at the time you NEED to see it. I had that experience when I first saw Nancy Sovoca’s Dogfight, starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor. This movie should be required viewing for every male before he turns 18.

Watchin' Trailerz with Doug (Jan. 25)
Last weekend, I was in LA for a baby shower (THAT'S RIGHT -- I'M HAVIN' A BAY-BEE!), and I got a chance to meet this nice dude named Kevin Ford through my soon-to-be brother-in-law. Kevin is a videographer/filmmaker who worked on The Brothers Bloom, and is currently editing a documentary about Adrien Brody renovating an old, rundown castle in upstate New York (serious stuff, F-Heads). Anyway, Kevin showed me the trailer for a movie he directed titled Legs, featuring Angela Bettis (she of May and The Woman fame), and, well, because I'm always looking for ways to juice this introduction, I figured I'd share his preview here. So, enjoy! And if that doesn't float your boat, here's a new trailer for the IMAX 3D rerelease of Top Gun. YOU'RE WELCOME.

Riske Business: A Pep Talk to the Frustrated Moviegoer
It’s fashionable to complain about the theatrical movie going experience. At times, I hate it too. I admit that and I go on average about twice a week. But any movie lover has no choice but to keep going. I honestly believe that.

Not as well known as David Mamet’s House of Games, The Spanish Prisoner is a terrific, twisty, con-artist film. The Spanish Prisoner can also be seen as an extended metaphor for how Mamet views the entire enterprise of filmmaking.

Watchin' Trailerz with Doug: The Best Trailerz of 2012
You guys killed it this week. Great participation, great comments, great enthusiasm for everyone's top 10 lists (looking forward to reading all of yours tomorrow!). Today, I'm highlighting some of the best TRAILERZ (I know, kinda boring [because I'm lazy]) from last year. Now, these aren't the trailerz from the year's best movies, nor am I featuring awesome trailzers for yet-to-be-released films (e.g., Man of Steel). These are just the best looking, most exciting, funniest, fun, most kick-ass previews from 2012, in no particular order. Tell me what I'm missing in the comment section.

Erika's 10 Favorite Movies of 2012
The few readers who saw my list last year (or who have ever heard me talk about lists) know that I have an extremely difficult time ranking things - especially art. Favorite song? Why pick one? Love song? Rock song? New wave? Folk thrash? Who could choose just one?

My Favorite Movie Moments of 2012
2012 might not go down in history as a good year for great movies, but it was most definitely a GREAT year for GOOD movies. There was a lot to like this year, and so much of the good stuff this year went down so easy that I know I'll be revisiting a ton of these movies for years to come. Here are some of my favorite moments from movies I really liked, plus some great moments from movies I didn't. It was that kind of year -- even the movies I wasn't crazy about had their moments. Here they are.
