I still watch stuff on Vhs for nostalgia sometimes so Dvd is still nice if its a good transfer. You've made me want to watch more of them - Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla in particular stands out in this series as one I'd really like to see - and after some quick research I see it's about the only one not on blu-ray :(

Great work Heath - quite a movie-watching/essay-writing achievement!Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03114869401584310369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-71584264403945604332014-09-19T07:12:29.303-05:002014-09-19T07:12:29.303-05:00If Roland Emmerich's 1998 Godzilla had been ca...If Roland Emmerich's 1998 Godzilla had been called something else, like Check Out This Soundtrack: The Movie, then I agree with you that it probably would have fared better. There's not a lot there in terms of substance, but you're right. It would have been a decent spectacle movie for that time period. I enjoy the film as a spectacle monster movie. It isent a Godzilla movie and would of gone down better under a different name. But as soon as you think of it as a Godzilla movie especially if you know your history you are never going to enjoy it and I understand. I think this film gets a lot of flack and I thinks its main problem is in the title. I cant think of a better title though. T-Rex takes New York. Sorry thats rubbish. But still better than Godzilla.....Dennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13900651640246375537noreply@blogger.com
