The Babadook was by far the best thing of the night, and it was interesting to see those two so close together - VERY different movies that used some of the same components; single mother, car wreck, home invasion.

My wife and I were shopping for some new door hardware the other day, and I thought to myself "I definitely want to get knobs, not handles."

I'm just going to put this in here again, in case you didn't watch it a paragraph ago. It may be the pinnacle of achievement for the lowly tomato.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl71kRer9DMit'sCharliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12275129893233314434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-1374927265228317992014-12-25T03:49:14.948-06:002014-12-25T03:49:14.948-06:00Update. I will return once I've seen it to comment

Maybe for the same reasons I also stopped watching the Saw films. It all seemed at the time kinda pointless. Torture for tortures sake. Im not going to use the over used TP term. But now I am also thinking of returning to them as Patricks opinion who I like seemed to like them second time around more but not the first. It's almost complete garbage but there are some great death scenes mostly focused on eyeballs and it's shot pretty well. The cast is also um...interesting?

Chaybeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00696179838579647187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-68516326586568445832014-12-23T08:01:06.306-06:002014-12-23T08:01:06.306-06:00I think A Serbian Film is the hardest of the bunch...I think A Serbian Film is the hardest of the bunch. I do not recommend seeing that film nor do I agree with some that it is important.

I saw Nekromantik years ago and remember thinking it was kind of silly. You are correct about disturbing being subjective. For example, I did not like Tusk at all but I was really affected by it for some reason. I couldn't deal with a man being broken down that much into an animal with no way to fight back. It really disturbed me and I even welled up at one point! WTF! Haha.

Anyway, I did not find Inside disturbing. There was a ton of hype around it and I felt it wasn't as "extreme" as it was built to be. It's also kind-of stupid, plot wise. I would say it's worth a look though. It's definitely not "fun" like Dead Alive in the sense that everything is so exaggerated that you over look how bloody it is, but I would say it's suspenseful enough to check out, especially being a horror fan. It's definitely a film that should be seen. I just don't like disturbing. But I guess what is Disturbing is subjective to each of us on a different level. For the same reasons I still have not seen A Serbian film. It did, however, made me interested in seeing Black Christmas. All these years, I've been confusing it with Silent Night, Deadly Night, (which I have seen) and just passing it off as garbage. I'm excited to check that one out this holiday season.Brian Sagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15266020828208581370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-89230117167538412832014-12-22T18:06:02.701-06:002014-12-22T18:06:02.701-06:00Inside is much less disturbing than Martyrs in my ...Inside is much less disturbing than Martyrs in my opinion and more, um, fun? I guess is the right word. It's bloody but it's somewhat traditional where as Patrick pointed out, Martyrs is a much more complex film.
