I was the only one. But it still makes me laugh now. Very funny, and very sad. I just thought Sam Two was a bit of a dick because he wasn't happy about the whole "being a clone" thing. Clearly your analysis is much more thematically interesting - here's hoping I have an older, smarter clone out there somewhere. I also have a slightly different and more hopeful feeling about the ending - whatever happens - hell, even if he dies on impact - he liberated himself. In the words of the great racist Mel Gibson: "Some men are longer than others." No wait, I mean, "Freeeeedommmmm!"

Side-note: I just watched this a few months ago and checked out some special features for the first time. I love many a Sam Rockwell performance, but...it seems like he's a bit of a douche...constantly making the same stupid jokes about playing opposite himself and thinking he's so funny, but really just not. Kinda bummed me out.Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03114869401584310369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-54783673522346741932016-08-10T12:21:23.773-05:002016-08-10T12:21:23.773-05:00I remember really loving this movie when I saw it ...I remember really loving this movie when I saw it at the theater back in 2009 and I remember that I wrote about it for some site (I can't remember where now) and I called it something along the lines of a "small film." And people really gave me a hard time about that, but it is! It clearly wasn't made for a lot of money (comparatively) and even the story is very intimate.

It was a breath of fresh air for me at the time and the practical effects look beautiful...especially after having been desensitized to CGI for so long. And of course Rockwell, is great as usual.

Jones' followup was also quite good, Source Code...another fairly intimate, modestly budgeted sci-fi flick. I personally was disappointed when I heard that we going to make Warcraft, because, to me, it just seemed like an ill-advised move...but apparently it did pretty well overseas...so good for him.

I need to revisit Moon. I haven't seen it since maybe 2010. Thanks for reminding me how much I enjoy this film.

BlakeSaturday Night Movie Sleepovershttp://saturdaysleepovers.podwits.comnoreply@blogger.com
