My father got me my first tickets for their concert at https://somethingrottenshowtickets.com/ and I will be forever grateful to him. He always understood how I felt about Metallica.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-54770838103132521302014-03-23T02:51:03.716-05:002014-03-23T02:51:03.716-05:00Over produced and commercial crap is how I'd s...Over produced and commercial crap is how I'd sum up this latest offering from Metallica. You can see what Metallica have done with this movie and that is to unashamedly market this to the masses. Hell even my wife who's a Disney buff enjoyed these flat versions of Metallicas best. That's how dummed down they were in this movie.
Once Metallica started messing about with orchestral versions of their songs and getting and endorsing non metal artists to cover their music that signaled the end of the band for me. They have been simply trying to rehash their back catalog to resell to the party faithful in lieu of having no new ideas ever since The Black Album with one or two notable singles along the way.
Time to pack it in guys?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18432630728626279287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-48815367340232944722013-10-01T02:39:56.939-05:002013-10-01T02:39:56.939-05:00Didn't like the look of this movie from the pr...Didn't like the look of this movie from the previews and it looks like you have solidified it with your review. I have never been a huge fan of these type of music movies, in fact I can't think of one I have seen and liked (although does the DVD of Weird Al's Alpocalypse tour count?)

You know another bad cliche to use would have been "Metallica: Through the Never doesn't have speakers that turn up to 11!"Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01113718068790634277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-29417270854235632072013-09-30T09:19:32.875-05:002013-09-30T09:19:32.875-05:00Ugh, thanks for taking one for the team on this on...Ugh, thanks for taking one for the team on this one, Adam. I'm sure I enjoyed reading your review far more than I would've enjoyed the movie which I was probably never (now definitely never) going to watch.

I haven't really been able to stomach Metallica since I watched Metallica: Some Kind of Monster. Great documentary and I get that most of these bands have a certain stage persona and a lot of it's an act, but having gotten such a good long look behind the curtain, it makes their heavy metal shtick hard for me to watch.Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03114869401584310369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-49079790418344583472013-09-30T09:09:08.552-05:002013-09-30T09:09:08.552-05:00"...it is lazy, self-satisfied, clumsy, fake-..."...it is lazy, self-satisfied, clumsy, fake-hard and has nothing on its mind." In my opinion that sentence about sums up the band itself for the last decade or so. My apologies if any are fans.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10475027751253870681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-87979329108314940532013-09-30T09:05:27.074-05:002013-09-30T09:05:27.074-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10475027751253870681noreply@blogger.com
