It had everything an 11 year old could want. 1) Bats 2) the guy from La Bamba 3) America's Sweetheart Dina Meyer.

Turns out....no. Just no. Even my mom said "What, Bats? You want to see a movie called Bats?" I've still never it. From what i remember, it wasn't playing at our local theater, and literally no one wanted to drive me 45 minutes to the thester in Buffalo where it was playing. Good memory tho. The trailer is fine, but the same scenes in the movie are in near complete blackness.

Still a fun B movie, if you aren't the type kept up at night concerned with it's impact on the legacy of the Alien franchise. That's a John Ritter record I'll wager (though I burned out my video of problem child 2, as it was likely never returned to the video store, that was lost Ritter revenue and does not count). Peter Hyams always talks about "naturalistic lighting" where he lights from whatever sources are present rather than the usual movie lighting, which is why this and his other films tend to be, let's say, muddy. I'd argue that it works in The Relic, for an immersive you-are-there feeling. (Less so in The Musketeer, which is just as darkly lit.)

As for Man's Best Friend, I wonder why it isn't huge now. Everybody makes all their hokey jokes about Birdemic and The Room, when Man's Best Friend is just sitting there, practically demanding to be a genuine cult and/or midnight movie sensation.Mac McEntirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04665675426679622487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-35858841218009140892017-09-25T12:23:08.986-05:002017-09-25T12:23:08.986-05:00I can't tell you how many times I almost pulle...I can't tell you how many times I almost pulled the trigger and bought Rumpelstiltskin. 40 dollars you say...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06414362821398538889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-60387324147826893412017-09-25T12:02:27.701-05:002017-09-25T12:02:27.701-05:00Vampire in Brooklyn was one of the first movies I ...Vampire in Brooklyn was one of the first movies I ever walked out of. Not because it was terrible, but because it was incredibly, incredibly boring (which, come to think of it, kind of makes it terrible). I rented it years later, intending to give it a second chance, and I made it about as far (20-30 minutes) before giving up again.

I liked the Psycho remake at the time, but I was young and dumb and didn't know any better.Matt Lintonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05134451584982429993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-46239993047853854782017-09-25T09:38:53.832-05:002017-09-25T09:38:53.832-05:00I remember hearing that on an early F This Movie. ...I remember hearing that on an early F This Movie.
