If this is the last classic warner bros 3d blu ray release I wish it would have been a action movie or a western . Hopefully they will release more classic 3d .Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-74272069733006171892015-07-15T19:19:05.753-05:002015-07-15T19:19:05.753-05:00I have been meaning to get to this one for a while...I have been meaning to get to this one for a while. I have always had my fair share of problems with Taming of the Shrew as a Shakespeare fan. I love his comedies and think that some are ahead of many films even today as to its views on gender dynamics. So it is just something I don't feel his heart in as much as Twelfth Night or Midsummer or As you like it, which is a ridiculous thing to say about someone so treasured but he is treasured by me too so I feel it is okay. Especially as those three are some of the best comedic plays ever written. But I have always tried anyway to get passed its problems when I am seeing a retelling, and the fact it is a musical reinterpretation of a Shakespeare play has definitely had it placed on my list for quite some time. I will try make it go up a bit higher now. Fosse is definitely a standout in an already good routine. There is something electrifying about old school movie musicals. They seem to have a unique energy that is rare in other movies. Definitely seeking this one out.Gilnoreply@blogger.com
