If you (or anyone else) do actually check it out I would implore you to stick it out past the first season (which is only like six 22-minute episodes anyway) and give the characters and vibe a chance to grow on you. I'm a discerning enough TV watcher that, though I'm likely to not like something that is actually good, most things I do really like are genuinely really good. Cultural barrier is the only thing that gives me some pause.

I would definitely jump on a chance to see just about any theatrical presentation of IaWL - I thought the blu-ray looked great so I'm sure what you saw was awesome. Just out of curiousity have you ever watched the colourized version? I'm hesitant to for some reason...Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03114869401584310369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-58384338206437174852014-01-08T09:58:22.962-06:002014-01-08T09:58:22.962-06:00I'll have to check out the TV show, but I'...I'll have to check out the TV show, but I'd be lying if I said that wasn't an awful trailer.

So glad you finally got to see IaWL! Moreover, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Last year, JB and I (and our wives) got a chance to see a digital 4K print at the Patio Theater in Chicago, and it was a great experience.Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01284575713661622624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-75566716073275191192014-01-07T10:40:32.681-06:002014-01-07T10:40:32.681-06:00I would highly recommend people check out The Trai...I would highly recommend people check out The Trailer Park Boys TV show (available on Netflix I believe) - it's a documentary-style show that predates The Office - Seasons 2-5 in particular are pretty awesome. It's a cultural phenomenon in Canada and it's shot in and around Halifax so they're hometown heroes of mine. I'd be interested to hear if the characters are relatable in other countries as well!

The movies are okay but certainly not as good as the show in its hay day.

On a totally unrelated topic, Doug - I finally got around to watching It's a Wonderful Life and I really, really loved it - goddamn James Stewart was the best. I was surprised both by how un-Christmas-y and all-around great it is. I can totally see why it's your favourite movie - it's now one of mine.Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03114869401584310369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-67899690421999749092014-01-05T19:46:19.718-06:002014-01-05T19:46:19.718-06:00Fuckin Julian, Eh!Fuckin Julian, Eh!Brad Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18426952757794850746noreply@blogger.com
