One of those movies that I heard so much about so often, I felt as if I had already seen it.
A self proclaimed movie buff since I was a kid I finally sat down in my early 30's (I'm 47 now) to see what all the fuss was about.
I saw what all the fuss was about.
A favorite to this day, Casablanca also features one of my favorite moments in all of cinema:
Bogart's brief, gut-wrenching reaction to seeing Bergman at the piano with Sam.
It's a nanosecond of vulnerability, agony and turmoil relayed with subtle perfection by Bogart (and Sam who seems to feel Rick's heartbreak.)

Mike H.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-19975399274640941012017-03-14T22:08:23.181-05:002017-03-14T22:08:23.181-05:00Claude Rains was a dude in general - but here he&#...Claude Rains was a dude in general - but here he's at gis best!Lindsay Wilkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18418341720079552415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-62138201908365874322017-03-14T14:38:37.568-05:002017-03-14T14:38:37.568-05:00We don't have Bigger, Longer & Uncut yet. ...We don't have Bigger, Longer & Uncut yet. I would have guessed it be at the number 6 or 7, but I won't argue against top 2.
No surprise, as we all know his Holiness has a penchant for the blessed musicals.Paul Calverthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11748440093206090195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-6779245560884547382017-03-14T10:41:34.136-05:002017-03-14T10:41:34.136-05:00Of the many colorful characters in Casablanca, Lou...Of the many colorful characters in Casablanca, Louis is by far my favorite. He's an asshole, but he's such a charming asshole we like him anyway (kind of a template for Tony Stark). Louis is the source of most of my favorite lines, including:

"I am shocked, SHOCKED, to find that gambling is going on here!"

"I'd like to think that you killed a man. It's the romantic in me."

[Re: a wager he's making with Rick] "Make it 10. I'm only a poor corrupt official."

And my favorite line of all time, which I won't spoil for anyone who still hasn't seen the film. Suffice to say it involves a certain part of Louis' anatomy that may or may not be bulletproof...Steve K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02141959251034133806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-90132210622224408702017-03-14T10:04:13.154-05:002017-03-14T10:04:13.154-05:00I thought for sure this was going to be the Pope&#...I thought for sure this was going to be the Pope's #1. If I had to guess at the top 2 (and I do), thinking about the all-time greats that have yet to appear, I'm going to go with The Godfather, and Most Wanted, starring Keenan Ivory Williams.
