Yes there are some parts that could've been better (Colwyn getting the glave, the beast vs colwyn, the fortress can teleport but doesnt use that power to arrive on the planet itself, the quality of the visuals during the mere scene) But there is so much that is great about this movie. The movie has all of the classic elements a viewer longs for- the ideal hero, a princess kidnapped by a beast, thr fate of the world at stake, friendship and sacrifice, an old wise man, a mystic weapon, love, death, comic relief character, a seer. I recognize many people consider those points cliche but I think that characterization of classic story elements is overused. Let's talk about the great elements. The music, the beasts castle, the glave, the acting, the harsh deaths. Overall I think this is a great movie with a handful of issues. ryranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09291461837155737754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-10890067049047646832020-02-15T13:10:29.607-06:002020-02-15T13:10:29.607-06:00Sorry, I grew up watching Krull as a kid, and I st...Sorry, I grew up watching Krull as a kid, and I still think it’s a great movie. It’s a little campy yes, but that’s why I love it. It’s just fun to watch. I’m not looking for 121 minutes of pure tension. Now I’m in my 50’s and I own a Blu-ray copy now. Still watch it a couple times a year. However even as I grew from a kid to an almost adult and have seen many great movies, I still find that Krull in my eyes is always a precious jewel to me and will never be forgotten. I think the real idea with older movies like this, is that you either like them or you don't. Sure the movie has it's faults but overall I though it was I though it was fantastic. I think Krull suffers from the same thing as the Dark Crystal and other films. When you stop watching films like this for a while and grow up some, you find that you don't like the film as much as you did back then. However if you continue to watch the film as you are growing then in some way, you still feel like it's a prized gem in your life. Everyone has their opinions I find that you've brought up great points in your but overall I think you either like it or not. Whatever the thoughts of people are i'm fine with any and all opinions. There was also Sword of the Valiant, Beastmaster, Masters of the Universe, Legend, Never Ending Story, and Willow, to name a few. I still have flashbacks to Connery's Green Knight and all the dangerous/creepy Beastmaster beings.

Also, I tried to post this before, but is there any relation between Krull (featuring the circular and spiky weapon) and Krispy Kreme's crullers (circular, kind of spiky doughnut)? As a kid, I remember noticing that and wondering that to myself. Anybody know? Anybody want a doughnut?Predator Minute Podcasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02958735770519595547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-2567075584934602192015-04-16T15:13:21.994-05:002015-04-16T15:13:21.994-05:00I remember watching Krull when it first came out -...I remember watching Krull when it first came out - even though I enjoyed it, even as a kid I remember thinking "aren't we at the fortress YET??" That was one of the common criticisms Krull got at the time it came out and I'm pretty sure that would eventually happen the next year when Andie MacDowell's voice was dubbed by Glenn Close in "Greystoke".Leo Logannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4217427319662074458.post-11931382722346798302015-04-16T12:13:44.517-05:002015-04-16T12:13:44.517-05:00I rewatched "Krull" last year and though...I rewatched "Krull" last year and thought it held up pretty well.
