  1. Awesome! I rewatched this about a week ago and was mildly disappointed there was no F This Movie episode about it.

  2. Last thing I will ever say about Silver Linings on F!This Movie :-) I always saw it as wish fulfillment for struggling with mental illness.

The whole bit about having a nice ending to a story, because life it hard enough as it is...is what the movie is all about. It's supposed to be conventional and happily ever after.

The movie says something great (in my opinion) about people struggling with mental health problems. If you work really hard, take your meds, lean on family/friends, exercise, find productive tasks etc. you will feel a lot better. If you fall in love in the process, awesome.

    1. Probably not the last thing I'll ever say about Silver Linings Playbook on F This Movie!

I liked it a whole lot. And I agree with everybody who says JLaw is great, but I also agree that it's too bad Bradley Cooper had to give such a great performance in a difficult year for anyone but Daniel Day-Lewis. I will say I did have that moment of "huh, I didn't know this guy could act like this." but I hope he continues to do more interesting and better things than Hangover sequels.

I am quite excited for The Place Beyond the Pines. It looks to be great, and Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper have both impressed me as of late.

  3. Also, I think if you were to do a "Best Podcast Moment of 2013," Doug the stalker would be sitting firmly in that position as of right now.

    1. Oops, seconds after I wrote that I unpaused the podcast and heard Patrick say the exact same thing, haha.

  4. So, Patrick & Doug...are you pro-The Wood? I used to really like that movie. Especially in the morning. Bad joke?

    1. I still have not seen The Wood. And part of me is broken because of it.

  5. For future reference, as a proud Irish-American, Boondock Saints sucks.

(And Costello is an Irish name. Like Elvis Costello, though obviously not his real name.)

  6. I was mildly surprised that you didn't mention Darby O'Gill and the Little People, one of the only "Irish" movies I've actually watched on St. Patrick's Day.

  7. Just wanted to say I'm super happy that you guys F'ed this movie. This was my first sojourn to the Music Box Theater (in Chicago), and I fell in love with it (although I would not be brave enough to swing by Franka Potente's house). I bought the soundtrack and really started loving JJ Abrams because Jennifer Garner wore a red Lola wig on the first episode of "Alias."
