  1. So...because you're blind and cheap. Got it. :)

    1. And because I don't like it. And because it's not good. Are you a fan?

    2. Heheh - yeah, I am a fan! And it is good! That's right, I said it! I'm not going to hide my true feelings for fear of reprisal anymore. I'm here! I like 3D! Get used to it!

No, I'm just goofing around - I mean I do enjoy it - in some cases a lot - but I get that it's a gimmick that doesn't actually improve the movie itself, it's just a gimmick that happens to work on me (I also don't experience any of the possible negative side-effects). I generally choose to see a movie in 3D if possible, but I could live without it too.

  2. Twitter shorthand fails me again, and this time it nearly killed Doug. Perils of 140 characters. Sorry

  3. I'm always cocky...always, not to mention the best (kidding). I think that list is pretty great and would agree with it. The only addition off the top of my head I would throw in on my personal list is Ben Affleck (so far). Possibly Nolan, too. I hope Affleck playing Batman now leads to him directing himself in a Batman movie. I really want to see that.

  4. I'm guessing my question was edited out because of sheer awesomeness! Just kidding. Great questions!

Maybe next "Ask F This Movie"........(walks away while "The Incredible Hulk" end theme plays)

    1. We had to cut a few for time. Just send it in for next time. Sorry about that! Sad Hulk.

    2. Speaking of sad Hulk (because segues), perhaps Doug can tattoo on himself Memento-style that I'm @Dr_David_Banner, and because he forgot me I am now walking away to my sad theme music...

    3. Yeah, right -- like JP is your real name.

    4. You caught me. My real name is Hollywood Harvey Holland, but I thought that might get confusing.

    5. Wait, Doug's wearing a Memento skinshirt on the next episode?

  5. Patrick! What's your opinion on movies (I should say masterpieces) like Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters or My Bloody Valentine in 3D?

    1. I didn't see Hansel & Gretel in 3D (though I did see and like the movie in 2D), but I saw My Bloody Valentine. It was...ok? It was a fun gimmick, I guess. I don't mind 3D when it's just a goof (though it did nothing for me in Drive Angry). I'm just bummed out that it's now the norm, because it never adds anything for me.

Having said that, if Avatar got a 3D (IMAX) re-release tomorrow, I would be calling in sick to go see it.

    2. Well you're in luck because there's gonna be, what, 17 more Avatar movies? And one of them written by the Aliens vs Predator: Requiem writer so you know that's going to be GREAT.

I agree that most movies should just stop being 3D (Looking at you, The Wolverine) but I always get this childlike glee whenever something pointy flies out from the screen towards my face. More movies should embrace the gimmicky fun 3D can add.

I also like the idea that in 15 years, when 3D is hopefully dead and gone, people will be watching this decade's movies wondering why every explosion featured shrapnel flying directly at the screen.

  6. Thanks for answering my question, guys! Sorry it was long and chewed up a lot of airtime, but the weather's miserable where I am so your answer picked my spirits up a bit. I'll keep my next submission a lot shorter if the opportunity ever comes around again.

Also, those Chris Klein clips were absolutely fantastic. The montage of his scenes on youtube is perhaps one of my favorite youtube videos of all time.

  7. No one should apologize for their questions. We're so thankful that people took the time to submit them. Any goofing we did was purely out of love and a desperate need to get laughs. We are VERY lucky to have you all and do not want anyone feeling slighted. You guys are the best.

    1. I felt worse about making Doug rattle all that off than anything else hahaha. Definitely didn't feel slighted.

Also, kudos for putting Inception on the top of the Nolan list (albeit with the caveat from Doug). I need to see that one again (for about the 15th time or so).
