Merry Christmas, F This Movie! A wonderful and relaxing holiday to all of you great people, and everyone else in the F This Movie! community, too! Now, I must be off to watch the copy of The World's End that I got for Christmas.
Had a great Christmas day here in Gotham. Caught "The Wolf of Wall Street" (sold out 8AM show), "Secret Live of Walter Mitty" (harmless but not funny/dramatic/romantic enough to qualify as either a comedy/drama/romance flick), "Welcome to the Space Station" (a 2009 anime flick making its US theatrical premiere) and "The Past" (latest melodrama from the director of "A Separation"). "Wolf" was by far the best flick of the bunch, even if it's so derivative of "Goodfellas" as to cast Bo Dietl as himself. Finally, after four tries, DeCaprio (channeling Joseph-Gordon Levitt) and Scorsese bring the best out of each other and deliver three hours of entertaining debauchery, which is just what the doctor ordered for a Christmas holiday that falls on a Wednesday. :(
Psh, Christmas on a Wednesday, what is this nonsense?!Also, I'm hoping to check out The Wolf of Wall Street real soon. For me, the remainder of this year and the beginning of the next will be spent trying to play a bit of movie catch up. There are no less than five movies from the tail end of the year that feel like must-sees to me. I'm finally getting to check out American Hustle this afternoon.
