Weekend Weigh-in: What is Your Christmas Wish?

There's just a few more days to get in your requests.

With the anniversary of Santa's birth coming up this week, now's the time to weigh in on what your Christmas wish is. Great if it's movie related, ok if it's not.

And we know not everyone will be celebrating Christmas, but you should participate anyway. Look at it as a free wish!

  1. Safety, security, love and compassion for all...

and a big ass new audio home theatre system.

  2. You're just trying to convert Adam & me by throwing free wishes around aren't you?

My first ever Christmas wish: I wish for health & happiness for my family & friends (both real-life and online), and I wish for Patrick to finally mail out that button from #FThisMovieFest even though the logo is now tragically outdated.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, et cetera, et cetera to all!

    1. I've converted to Regal Cinemas because the new AMC pre-show tomatoes are disgusting and annoying.

Happy Holidays JP! 4 days till Grudge Match. Better camp out.

  3. Patrick wants to see Joe Lynch's last movie released uncut.

I'm still waiting to see Billy Bob Thornton's All the Pretty Horses released on blu ray in its 4 hour glory.

Happy Holidays to everyone at F This Movie. This is the best, and friendliest, movie site on the internet.

    1. Ok, but there are some rules you should probably be made aware of...

  5. Since others have already covered the "peace, love, etc" beat, I can focus on my own selfish wants:

A Region A Blu-Ray of the 111-minute cut of Touch of Evil. How is it that America does not have this (there is a splendid Region B version), but we have a Blu-Ray for the Adam Sandler film "Jack and Jill?"

A Blu-Ray edition of the great Howard Hawks film Only Angels Have Wings. This movie was the inspiration for 2 TV shows I have fond memories of: Disney's "Tale Spin," and the short-lived adventure series "Tales of the Gold Monkey."

And for something genuinely impossible: A beautiful, impeccable Blu-Ray of the original cut of Star Wars (sigh).

Happy Holidays, everyone! You are an island of sanity, intelligence, and good humor in a world that desperately needs it.

    1. You may get your wish soon about Star Wars. Now that Disney owns the property, they will surely put the mighty dollar above George Lucas' desires.

    2. I didn't think of that! Let the petitions commence...

    3. But an official blu ray of the Christmas special... may take a bit longer. :)

  6. 1) I want someone to invent something that disarms guns when they're brought into buildings.

    2) I want Phantom of the Paradise on blu ray with a great audio mix and the extras from the French release.

    3) I want Columbia/Sony to rescue the deleted footage from The Monkees' Head that's currently rotting on their shelves and release it.

    4) I'd like the Dolphins to at least make it to the AFC playoffs.

  7. PS - You can buy the SW Holiday Special with a humorous commentary track as a VOD at Rifftrax.com. How they arranged that legally I'd love to know.

PPS - Something else I'd like for Xmas is to be able to reply to posts here using my Android tablet. :-)

  8. My Christmas wish is to have a happier healthier year ahead. I hope I can learn new ways of dealing with my issues and gather the strength I need to face the bumpy parts of next year. I can always remember that with good humour, good people, lots of movies and things like Fthismovie, it will be a pretty good year. I hope that this year I can actually make a difference to a few people at my university (it is looking hopeful) and be a representative (me and my best friend want to be officers, a new position that we had to motion for, which got passed but we still need to be voted in). I also hope that I do well with my dissertation and continue to be able to learn and grow with my film criticism.

Thank you guys over at Fthismovie, I agree with everyone above that you guys have such a great site and podcast. I feel so welcome and really love these comment sections, one of the only few fun places to read comment sections on the internet! I feel Fthismovie is place where you know you're going to get funny, intelligent, insightful, enjoyable discussions and reviews, with great personalities and people. I hope you have a great holidays and I wish that you all have the best 2014 possible.

  9. Well, I'd like sequels to Hot Rod and Your Highness, a new Supergirl apart from the Snyderverse, a movie co-starring Schwarzenegger and Shatner, and a Labrador with dark/navy blue fur. But I guess I'd settle for F This Movie! podcasts on The Mummy ('99), The Mask of Zorro, and Muppet Treasure Island. :)

    2. Hey, so, I hope I'm not being a pain... but the year's half over... and I'd still totally love to hear any of the three above shows. Thanks again for all the great listening! The Wonka episode was particularly good. :)

  10. My Christmas wish is for everybody to have a happy, healthy and strong finish to the year. Also I hope for an awesome new year for movies. Specifically, I hope that The Lego Movie, Interstellar, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past, How to Train Your Dragon 2, 22 Jump Street, Gone Girl, Godzilla, and Jupiter Ascending are ALL as crazy awesome as they have the potential to be (and I don't know if I'm "excited" about it, per se, but I'm very curious about Noah, anyway).
