The neighbors gave me weird looks when I snapped this pic.
And let me tell you, this location looks totally different in real life than it does in the movie (and in the fantasy in my head). I mean, it's not bad or unattractive in person -- just ... different. And I guess that's what they mean by "MOVIE MAGIC." Because once you see something with your own eyes (pleonasm much?), the bloom is off the rose. WAS THIS COLUMN A MISTAKE?

As always, please post your guesses in the comments below. If you can find a matching movie still or video that features this location, great! Share that as well. If you're stuck, I'll post clues throughout the day.

That entryway looks weirdly like it's Sid's house from Toy Story.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's got a very familiar and Disney-like vibe to it but I'm totally stumped.
DeleteLuke's house from Star Wars?
Here's a clue: in the movie, a title card states that the house is in Pasadena, but it's actually located in Los Angeles, just to the south of South Pasadena.
ReplyDeleteDid you happen to see a Pussy Wagon parked out front?

Nice - see, I knew it was a Disney movie.
DeleteDamn, son.
DeleteI think Doug drives the pussy wagon

Fixed!
DeleteNice they been playing this movie on tv alot lately too.
ReplyDeleteMike Eaton is right -- this is a private residence on Atlas Street in Los Angeles, home of Vernita Green, a.k.a. Copperhead (portrayed by Vivica A. Fox) in KILL BILL: VOL. 1. The epic knife fight between Copperhead and The Bride (Uma Thurman) takes place in the house, too. Check out Mike's YouTube link above for the scene.
