  2. I am seeing I am not a serial killer in September, and I even more excited about it now!!! I haven't seen a trailer only a couple of images so it should be good.

Don't Breath I can agree was savagely unpredicatable. It was so much fun.

Oh yeah maybe a Fright Night commentary, it will be a gush fest but an interesting gush fest.

  3. Even though it was said it would never been done, what would it take, Mr. Bromley, for a Phantom of the Paradise episode or commentary? Starship Troopers proved you can gush over a movie, yet also include insight and thought provoking discussion.

    1. Here, here.
Although I don't believe you can tell me anything that I don't already know. ;-)

  4. Wait, Heather isn't good at small talk?

  5. That 31 Q&A did for panels what Jaws did for the ocean. Top critics I'm assuming would agree?

    1. That comment was unpredictable, but not savagely so.

    2. It was an edge of your seat panel. Malcolm McDowell gave a tour de force performance.

    3. It was a room full of Rob Zombie fans...who were willing to sit in a room full of Rob Zombie fans...

      You expected something sane?

  6. How about an episode with Heather on The Devil's Rejects? Even if it's just gushing, I'm sure she hasn't addressed al 105 or so reasons for her loving that movie.

  7. I could listen to Patrick and Heather episodes all day. All. Day.

I love how often Heather threatens to physically fight anyone that doesn't like certain movies she likes. Seriously, no sarcasm, I love it.

  8. I'm surprised Heather thought The Neon Demon was all surface level. The cougar scene in particular. No major spoilers, but there's a point where Jena Malone is looking at herself in a mirror, not particularly in a happy mood, and in a corner of the frame, reflected in the mirror, if I'm remembering correctly, is a cougar (or some other wild animal) -- perhaps stuffed. That connection made me think of the previous scene with the cougar in a subtextual sense. Considering Jena Malone's relationship with Elle Fanning in the film, it seemed to connect with me.

  9. Patrick, please let us know how you like Conjuring 2 once you see it. I thought it stands as one of Wan's best!

  10. Good fun guys
Re Dawn of the dead, if they do release the Argento version, I do also prefer the full Directors cut, but the Argento cut has the Goblin score which make it worth seeing on the big screen just to hear Goblin loud with a crowd

  11. On your discussion re sequels - such a good point and I think that's the reason movies like Alien Cubed and Alien: Resurrection come out looking not so bad now - at the time it was like "More Aliens, assholes!" Now I can totally appreciate that Alien to the Third Power was Animalistically Notknowingwhatscomingable.

Still listening but great podcast as usual - love the horror round-ups and always a pleasure to hear from Heather!

  12. Great podcast, Heather and Patrick,
    Please don't hurt me...
I saw Don't Breathe last night in a theater that was only about 20 percent full. I thought it was a ton of fun. I had a really good time and thought it was an expertly crafted movie. If I am honest with myself, however, it didn't live up to what I had built it up to in my head. I didn't think the reveals or twists were anything that would be considered next level. I am going to see it again on Tuesday night and am excited to do so. Really good movie, I am just feeling like I am missing something when I hear the level of praise for it.

A topic that would interest me in an upcoming podcast would be plot. When it comes to horror, we talk about the best kills, best villains, best twists, etc. It would be interesting (to me at least) to discuss horror movies that have legitimately great plots and story lines. Sometimes horror movies, even good ones, feel like porn in the sense that plot is secondary to the action that everyone is paying to see (or watching for free on the internet). A discussion of horror movies with objectively great plots would be cool.
Hope that suggestion doesn't fall into the bullshit category!
    Great Podcast.
Thanks for everyone's hard work that gives me something to react to every week (day if I include non podcast).

  14. Did either of you get to see Mike Flanagan's Before I Wake at any of its festival screenings and if so, what did you think?

I've been really eager to see that one and the constant delays in its release due to Relativity's financial issues have been frustrating to say the least. If it's good (as most of his previous movies have been), I hope it doesn't fall through the cracks.
