  1. Thanks for bringing SMM early with an awesome show! Like everyone else, I'm crazy excited for October.

No hard feelings on Friend Request, even though I disagree with almost everything you guys say about it. As a great critic often says, "the world is a rainbow." It's time will come in about 20 years. ;)

  2. Man...I wanted to chime in on this one so bad. I actually have a lot of stories and things to say about Wishmaster...and its sequels. I met Andrew Divoff at the first horror convention I ever went to...and he was signing stuff for free. I just got a free signed promotional Wishmaster 2 photo...but I remember the experience fondly.

And I also have fond memories of seeing the 1st Wishmaster...I'd say it was at a sleepover, but it was more of a drunken all night movie binge with Phantasm & The Mangler. Anyway...it definitely has Saturday Night Movie Sleepovers episode potential. Lot's to talk about!

And if "The Wish-cast" ever comes to fruition, let me know...composer Harry Manfredini is a buddy of mine and I can probably talk him into doing the show.

  4. I am one of those people that enjoyed The Mummy and thought Russel Crowe was the best part.

    1. Just last week I was recommending Fun Size. As Adam said, we all have different eyes.

    2. Yes...but FUN SIZE is an under appreciated classic.

    3. It's fine. I also really like Valerian and Monkeybone. I am no stranger to unpopular opinions. It just makes my love for them that much more special.

  5. Great podcast! I have added Malice to the queue. It was great to hear the ori-djinns of Adam's Wishmaster love.

  6. Wishmaster really has a 'djinn ne sais quoi' about it.

  7. The original The Taking of Pelham 123 is SO good! Don't deprive yourself, Adam!!

    1. I'll add it to my watch-list for November along with Zero Effect.

    2. I just watched the 1974 version two weeks ago. It tries to be 1970s NY gritty but doesn't quite get there. The casual racism and sexism was unfortunate.

  8. I wish Adam would do a side podcast where he breaks down Wishmaster one minute at a time every week.

    2. Great listen as always. Was waiting on yours thoughts on Friend Request. But we still have Happy Death Day! This one has to be better and I'm pumped for it in the same way. I mean it plays In Da Club so it's shamelessly screaming early 2000s.

Definitely only watched Wishmaster last year for the first time and I'll probs watch it again this SMM. And maybe Warlock too.

  9. The idea of a Satan's Little Helper commentary makes me so happy, even if it is just the idea of one... Adam's words got me to watch it and yeap i'm in the "LOVE Satan's Little Helper!!" camp... Jeff Lieberman deserves so much more respect as a genre director!!

  10. Satan's Little Helper is not my favorite Lieberman film, but it is definitely worth a watch and I agree that Jeff doesn't get enough respect. I've been very lucky to become friendly with Jeff over the years and he's a great guy, a nice guy....and quite the character...in the best sense of the word. He even wrote a blurb for my book, Scored to Death. Love that guy!

  11. Somehow, I didn't see it coming that this episode would remind me that Tomcat Alley is a game that exists for the first time in like 20 years.

  14. Count me among those who checked out this movie specifically because of Adam's mentions of it throughout the history of the podcast. One of my favorite voices in all of podcasting, and his joy really was infectious in that this isn't normally my type of movie, but watching it with his appreciation in mind totally helped me have a great time with it. Thanks y'all!
