ReplyDeleteShe should have won an Oscar and a Nobel Prize
DeleteI remember this movie being really well shot, I look it up and the guy shot the first two lethal weapons and Joe vs the volcano. And other things that seem to also be movies. Kidman should've won a Peabody and a Grammy for spoken word and the golden silk sheet.
ReplyDeleteIt was nominated for Best Cinematography!
DeleteThat is awesome. Kidman also should've won best cinematography.
DeleteAnd an Olympic Gold Medal
DeleteNicole Kidman has swept the Utah Jazz for the NBA championship!
DeleteWow, looking forward to checking this episode out. This seems like an ideal to shamelessly plug my website http://www.1995batman.com
ReplyDeleteFor my money this is the ONLY fun Batman movie they've ever made. And yes I'm including the tedious 1966 film.
Just finished listening. Very enjoyable as always. Fun fact: the original script by Lee and Janet Scott Batchler DID include a scene where it's implied Chase and Batman had sex and he kept his mask on.
DeleteCan confirm: The Fast and the Furious ride at Universal Studios is hot garbage. Meanwhile, my understanding of the reaction to Disney's Star Wars Land in California is that it is amazing and I can't wait for it to open here in Orlando!!
ReplyDeleteLet me know how Star Wars Land is once you go :-)
DeleteIt'll definitely be a few months after the place opens that I'll go, haha. It's sure to be a major madhouse for a while, but I'll be sure to report back once I do go! :)
DeleteA great episode as always and it really made me want to rewatch the movie. There is so much nostalgia for me regarding stuff around the movie more than even the movie itself. Like you guys mentioned, the soundtrack and kiss from a rose specifically were huge for me ( i was 7 and it was the first cd I ever got haha) and those McDonald glasses were a staple of our house for years.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t seen it in a long time, but it sounds like the movie will probably hold up better than I expected.
Also, one weird and minor thing that always kind of bothered me about Kilmer as Batman: I always thought his face looked weird in the mask. I’m pretty sure it’s his lips specifically, but I don’t know, it always just looked off to me haha.
I was 9 years old when this movie came out. Boy how time flies.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeleteThose McDonald’s glasses were the best.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at eBay for Batman Forever memorabilia.
DeleteI also immediately started hitting eBay to check them out.
DeleteWell be interesting to hear your reviews of Friday 6 & 7...i think you'll have fun with both
ReplyDeleteGreat episode, guys! Now I have to go back and listen to your Batman & Robin episode yet again.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm in the minority, but I've always loved Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face. You mentioned that you can sense his contempt, but I can't. He seems like he's having a blast (and if I didn't know the behind-the-scenes stories, I'd assume he was), and I love it when actors just go for it. He comes off better than Jim Carrey because he's actually playing a character (as over-the-top as that character may be), whereas Carrey is just being Jim Carrey. I also really like Uma Thurman in Batman & Robin, who also looks to be having the time of her life hamming it up.
Speaking of Batman & Robin, and this is a bit embarrassing, but I was actually as obsessed with that film when it came out as Adam was with Batman Forever. I was 7 years old, however, so please don't hold it against me.
I'm so glad 90's summer event movie marketing came up. Love those McDonald's mugs!!!
ReplyDeleteBest soundtrack ever.
