  1. Great episode. Best of luck to whoever takes on JB's Exorcism at 60,000 Feet challenge.

  2. Thanks, Ross. Exorcism at 60,000 Feet is worse than I describe it...

  3. There's not way you can describe a very bad movie that won't encourage us to watch it

  4. I saw 'Panther' way back on VHS. If I remember correctly it's good but I was also 14 I think, and even dumber then I am now. I'd love to revisit it. I remember it having some exploitation elements but was trying to be like 'Malcolm X'.

    1. Panther is on Youtube for free (from reelblack). For those looking to watch it though, it might be worth it to research it a little bit first as one of the Black Panther co-founders who I believe is depicted in the movie denounced the film as mostly fiction.

That doesn't mean it's not worth watching but I think it's best to go into it with that context as well as how van Peebles responded in what he was trying to accomplish with the story.

    2. That's very interesting, thank you. I've always been fascinated with art versus accuracy.

  5. Panther is great. It was one of those movies on HBO for a month like every day one year in the 90s. It was my introduction to the idea that being "down for the cause" (the cause being anti-racism) can be shed easily if you are white. There is a great sequence where two of the characters talk about this and it blew my mind as a 16 year old. I think the character in the film says, "All they have to do is get a hair cut and new clothes to join the establishment", they being white folk. I still think abut that scene and that movie all the time.
