That is really cool and interesting about your connection to The Village, Rosalie!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I could see Spicoli being real. But most of the things they gave him to do were unreal, like order pizza to class.
Thanks for listening, Meredith!
ReplyDeleteSo the funny thing about the pizza order--I didn't mention on the show, but the real life person that the character Rat was based on actually ordered pizza to his class, and was mad when the movie showed Spicoli doing it. He ended up suing but dropped it; and later, he became known for writing the first several "________ for Dummies" manuals so I think he made a good amount of money. Pretty funny how the least believable thing actually happened, albeit with another character!
Noooo wayyy (dude) ðŸ¤ðŸ¤ðŸ¤ That's funny, Rosalie. I was like "I know surfers but that - now that's a bridge too far..." hahhaha.
DeleteRosalie is absolutely delightful. I can't wait to hear her back in the show again soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for listening!
DeleteI am DOWN for a Happiness podcast! PLEASE!
ReplyDeletegreat episode! I too LOVE The Village and its always really stuck with me. JJL is maybe still the most fearless and idiosyncratic actress there is? Especially after The Hateful Eight. Also The Wild Life is one of my favorite discoveries this year. Very much just a hangout movie, but man, Chris Penn ruled.
