  1. My big memory of that weird NBC promo is Rob Lowe talking about how everyone at Parks & Rec hated it because it cut into their production time and time and, of course, NBC didn't pay them any extra for the work.

  2. Just for the record, I did see 'See How They Run', and it is a very fun whodunit comedy that I liked better than 'Death on the Nile.' I did see 'Senoir Year' and 'Me Time', but no one should see them.

    1. I have since caught up with See How They Run. It’s very very good.

  3. I really liked Confess, Fletch. But I was way off on the ending. Spoilers: Sorry JB, I actually thought marcia gay harden's italian accent was kinda trash, but I thought that was on purpose. For the first time it would be a Fletch villain who was playing a fake character and Fletch would be the one to call her out on it, then we'd get marcia gay harden in her normal voice, like, shit. you got me. But no, that wasn't it. But I still liked it. But it's a shame that movie has disappeared already.

  4. I’m the one person who saw Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris. I loved it. I think you’d like it, JB.

  5. Got to get this off my chest, but my "I don't get it" movie for the year was Pearl. I'm glad people love it and don't want to complain, it just didn't work for me. I enjoyed X, but of the leads I found Brittany Snow and Jenna Ortega a lot more interesting that Mia Goth even with her dual role (which just felt a bit gimmicky to me). To me Pearl felt like Ti West trying really hard to make Mia Goth a star. I know a lot of people love the monologue she has near the end, but to me it felt like if the movie was successful in developing her character, there wouldn't need to be a long monologue of her explaining her character.

    1. We all have those "I don't get it movies". X did nothing for me, but I loved Pearl.

There's usually a movie on the "ugly" list that I really liked, but not this year. So maybe I've gotten my head screwed on correctly, or maybe Patrick and JB have finally come to their senses....lol, probably the former.

  6. Glad to see some love for Men. I completely understand why it would be divisive, but it worked for me. Not something I will rewatch anytime, but something I couldn't tear my eyes away from when I watched it. I wish I had seen it in theatres. Alex Garland has a way with visuals and sound. However, the soundtrack is kind of derivative, and very similar to Annihilation. It's good, but not so original.

    1. It's funny, because I was running errands, and really needed to pee, and stopped at the theatre to use the washroom. I was really tempted to watch a screening of Men which was about to start. But didn't. Maybe as well add that to my long list of life regrets.

  7. Last year's podcast gave me Old Henry and ended up being one of my favorite movies of the year. I gave The Last Son a shot and couldn't get into it. I also watched Emily the Criminal because of this podcast and really loved it.
