I loved the new guest! Great episode, even though I haven't seen a single Wes Anderson movie. Not intentionally, but he kind of rose to prominence during a decade when I wasn't really watching many movies.
ReplyDeleteBlack Rain is really good. One of the better recent discoveries of a movie I hadn't previously ever heard of. Like mentioned in the podcast, the bit at the end with the rolling fields was really beautiful cinematography in what on the surface was a boilerplate cop movie.
Oh, one other thing discussed on the podcast that I wanted to mention...2010 is a great sci fi and definitely worth the watch. Of course it kind of pales in comparison to 2001 Space Odyssey, but I was actually impressed how it was able to tie into the lore of 2001, while being it's own movie.
