  1. Did you guys mention The Train? IMO The Train is JF's best.

    1. We mentioned it after recording because I told Rob I've had it on Blu for years and have yet to watch it. Going to fix that now for sure.

    2. Cool! Just after I posted this you mentioned it on the episode. I don't know if you're allergic to war movies, but I think it's extremely strong. I hope you enjoy it!

    3. Patrick dropped a bunch of Frankenheimer recommendations, and I'm going to have to go back and note them down (I was driving while listening). Cool, I'll check out The Train. The ones I've seen from him have all been really strong. I think Seven Days in May was my #1 best new-to-me movie a few years ago.

  2. Bwahahaha, no joke I asked Cortney two months ago “How do we not have a RedBox kiosk in our garage yet”!!

  3. For what it's worth, Harkonnen is based on the Finnish surname Härkönen, which Frank Herbert thought sounded like a good villain name, and the new movies' pronunciation of the name is closer to Finnish (in Finnish, emphasis is always on the first syllable).

  4. My kids don’t bug me to take them to the movies like I did with my parents when I was their age. But, my 14-year-old did see Anyone But You three times in theaters with friends.

My 14 and 16 year old do want to see Challengers in a theater, but only if it’s in a theater with lazy boy recliners.

My 12-year-old loves going to the drive-in during the summer and likes going to the New Beverly to see old wacky comedies, but she’d be just fine watching YouTube forever if I never suggested going to see a movie in a theater.

And I know I’m part of the problem. I wanted to go to a theater to see Drive Away Dolls, Love Lies Bleeding, Immaculate, The Last Stop in Yuma County, Civil War, The Fall Guy and Hit Man… but I didn’t. And I’m sure part of it is knowing that I can see them relatively free later this year in my living room.

I have seen Furiosa twice in theaters tho, cause it’s better than Fury Road. ;)
