Ridley! Can't wait to listen. This is one of the movies I've seen the most times ever. I had a period of around 5 years where we had no internet and were just renting DVDs. I only owned a small collection myself but this was one of them. It's very easy rewatch.
ReplyDeleteAbout Dark Crystal, i think i mentioned it before, but my friend found a workprint on youtube a long time ago. my friend and I think it's better than the theatrical cut, which is a very good version already. i don't it's on youtube anymore
ReplyDeleteIs that the one where the Skesis speak their own language?

What's with this joshing around that Atonement isn't one of cinema's greatest-ever achievements? :P
ReplyDelete(Okay, maybe that's a wee bit hyperbole, but I do think it's excellent.)
I wish I could share your enjoyment of "Around the World in 80 Days", Adam. Unfortunately, when I watched it earlier this year it felt like the most Netflix movie to never be produced by Netflix. It has maybe the cheapest-looking opening credits I've seen. The only real positives are the Schwarzenegger cameo and seeing Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung share the same scene once again.
