Erika watches on FF! OMG. So do I. I wasn't...going to admit that. Until now. My big thing is I will often skip the beginning and just start 10 minutes in. If I like the movie, I go back and watch the beginning. I'm impatient.
I have similar feelings about The Truman Show. Even though it's good it still feels like homework. It has that homework-y feel because everyone's so pumped about it. Always an interesting phenomenon. Did you know Joseph Fiennes is in Elizabeth? I was into Elizabeth in 1998.
I listened to hear about Pleasantville, which I've been kind of itching to rewatch since one of Patrick's recent posts. I liked it but didn't love it in 1998. I wasn't mature enough to appreciate the themes even if I understood the basics. Now I'm curious about what I missed. Plus Tobey McGuire and Reese Witherspoon have grown on me over the years.
Also, Wes Anderson. Me, too. So hit or miss for me now. Sometimes (rarely) they're amazing; usually I can't stand them. Gene Hackman's Royal Tenenbaum will always have a special place in my heart.
