I've written extensively on this site before about my love for Holliston, the horror sitcom created by Hatchet director Adam Green. He and real-life best friend Joe Lynch (co-hosts of the excellent Movie Crypt podcast) play best friends Adam and Joe, two wannabe horror filmmakers living in Holliston, MA and trying to realize their dreams. The show also stars Corri English as Adam's ex-girlfriend Corri for whom he still carries a torch, adorable Laura Ortiz as Laura, Joe's girlfriend and a dark, dark painter, Dee Snyder as the boys' boss Lance Rockett (lead singer of a Van Halen cover band) and the late, great Dave Brockie (RIP) as Oderus Urungus, the alien who lives in Adam's closet and doles out terrible live advice.
If you didn't see Holliston when it aired on FEARnet, you're not alone -- not everyone gets that channel. That's ok, because Blu-ray makes the show even better; Green is clearly a lover of the format and packs his releases withe special features. ReplyDeleteIf Patrick hasn't already convinced you to watch this amazing show I doubt there's anything I can say to help, but in case you're just looking for a second opinion, it really is great. I actually rented the first season way back when Patrick first reviewed it and was so impressed I immediately ordered a copy for keeps (commentaries on every ep for a greater rewatchability factor).
