Where the F is Doug? #13

by Doug Schultz
My T-shirt's a clue!

This one might be a little tough, because the building is now so nondescript. Here's a hint: the name of this fictional film location referenced hot dogs (but not Hot Doug's -- that's just my whacky T-shirt/a beloved Chicago institution). Also, that beige wall in the background (across the street) used to feature a mural with the fake town's name on it. NOW I FEAR I'VE SAID TOO MUCH. Good luck!

TRY TO GUESS WITHOUT USING GOOGLE!

As always, please post your guesses in the comments below. If you can find a matching movie still or video that features this location, great! Share that as well. If you're stuck, I'll post clues throughout the day.

This pic is also posted on our Instagram feed, www.instagram.com/fthismovie. If you're already on that app, please follow us!

Good luck!

    1. Technically it's "Winky Dinky" Dog. My fault.

  5. Mr. Riske is correct! And no, just because he writes for the site doesn't mean he's also INSIDE MY HEAD.

This is the site of the "Dog Years" diner in several AMERICAN PIE movies (shown here). Now it's a nice restaurant called Café Opera. It's located on Myrtle Avenue in downtown Monrovia, CA. Monrovia has a small-town feel, and several movies have been shot there, including GROSSE POINTE BLANK (no pics of that, unfortunately).
