  2. I think my favorite political moment in any movie is when Robocop throws a city councilman out a window.

    1. Robocop is probably the most accurate movie on politics.

  3. I usually cannot stand political movies, or politics in general (especially in internetland climate these days) but for some reason I really liked The Contender. You count Welles' The Trial? Love that film. That's about all I got.

  4. Hilarious! Great video. My favorite political movie (and one of my all time favorite movies) is Mr Smith Goes to Washinton. Love. Love. Love that movie. It's awesome.

Also, does Air Force One count? I vote yes.

  5. Here, politics: I thought The Ides of March would be the best, but it was the worst. I'm surprised I don't know any good ones because evil politicians interest me. But even you guys don't know any except I Am Sam. Dakota Fanning- I loved her, my favorite Dakota and fav Fanning. She fits very snugly next to young Kirsten Dunst in my heart.

  6. You left out the best one, 1999's Dick.

  7. Charlie Wilson's War? Excellent film. HBO's Recount or Game Change? Both great. Oliver Stone's Nixon? One hell of a film. Lincoln?

Primary Colors is a terrific flick that deserves more than an oblique mention. Selma? Thirteen Days? The Manchurian Candidate? Amazing Grace? HBO/BBC's The Gathering Storm and Into the Storm?

  8. I'm going to do the child thing that Erika mentioned years ago, when you ask a kid what's his or her favourite movie its always the one they saw last, the last one I saw is political, it about a politician going back through time to steal money from the past to be more powerful in the future, governed by JCVD, #Timecop. Nice bluray double with Bloodsport how can you resist?
A good film, held up well for the time and a good looking transfer

  9. I must confess that I really do enjoy Wag The Dog, though Bulworth, I never actually finished because I got bored (sorry for those who disagree). One that I actually really love is called In The Loop, by the guy who created VEEP. It's based on his British tv show The Thick Of It, though I haven't been able to find it, but it's mainly, I believe, focused on British politics while In The Loop covers both British and American politics. My point is that anyone who hasn't seen In The Loop should really see it.

    1. Doug named In the Loop as one of his picks but it was cut for time. My point is that Doug is smart.

    2. Well, obviously you have to cut out any part that makes Doug look smart. I mean, c'mon.
