  2. I liked the film but had some issues that I expressed in the comments of your review. I got about 10 minutes in to this commentary and realized I need to revisit it with your commentary just to make sure. I'll do that when the Blu Ray comes out. Thanks for doing this, Patrick, cause otherwise I might have never thought to go back to it.

  3. I remember really not liking this movie at all, maybe this can swing me on it.

  4. I sort of skipped Tales of Halloween when it came out, so I'll be excited to visit it for the first time, and then again with you're commentary.

Quick question about Anthologies in general: Havs you, Patrick, or anyone for that matter, seen the 1945 anthology Dead of Night? It's one I've been thinking about checking out lately but would love to get another take on whether it's a worthwhile viewing. Thanks!!

    1. It's not only one of the top 5 best Horror anthologies, but one of the best Horror films, period. I love that film. See it!!

    2. I'm firmly #TeamChaybee here. I saw it for the first time not long ago thanks to catching it on TCM and it's really great.

    4. Heh, the consensus seems unanimous. I knew it seemed to be highly regarded, but I still wanted to get some extra opinions to back it up. Thanks, guys! I will watch Dead of Night this October along with Tales of Halloween! :)

  5. Seems like someone wants it to be October already. That someone is me. Looking forward to this. Thanks.

    1. I'm kinda still living like it's June, but this might push me over to October mode.

    2. You were living the best of both worlds last weekend with creature kills (sharks) and the Ocean! That looked like an awesome weekend by the way.

This commentary is so full of love and joy for this awesome movie that I'm sure I'll be coming back to it again and again. It puts me in a great mood! Awesome job Patrick. This is by far your best solo commentary yet. You've brought to my attention that a blu ray for this is FINALLY getting released. Can't wait for that!

I also love all the 'Patrick argues with the imaginary haters' parts. haha

  10. Now I really need to get the Blu-ray. On the plus side, it's region free. On the minus side, the BD costs $34.99 and shipping to Finland is $35.00. I don't think I'm preordering.

  11. I'm so glad you picked this movie. I love an excuse to watch it again. It's one of the only movies I've ever watched immediately after watching it the first time. It definitely gets better every time I watch it. I think it's cool that you try to test your boundaries. I don't know many people that can talk through an entire movie and be interesting throughout. Love this movie and loved the commentary.
