I know you had a great act to follow with this podcast, Mike, but fear not, this was a damn funny episode! I love the Patrick/Mike Bondcasts very much (and I'm sure I still will all the way up until the last one in 20-30 years or so)!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, John!
DeleteI agree, one of the funniest podcasts you've served us. I liked it a lot. =)
DeleteExcellent episode - Idris Elba would be a fantastic Bond! Make it so.
ReplyDeleteYES! I have been waiting for your James Bond podcast. I think I might like the George Lazenby impression more than the Timothy Dalton. It's hilarious. Great job, you guys!
ReplyDeleteCan confirm: Felix tells his new bride that Bond was married once in License to Kill. Right after Bond makes out with her. It's weird.
ReplyDeleteYes, the American in the musical Chess is based on Bobby Fisher without the later craziness. Written and music by Tim Rice and the two guys from ABBA, of all people. I like it quite a bit even if it is obviously dated now. (Also, "One Night In Bangkok" was originally performed by Murray Head, older brother to Buffy actor Anthony Stewart Head, who has also played the part.)
ReplyDeleteYour Bond podcasts are some of my all time favs and this one didn't disappoint! Looking forward to Dr. No. Also, "The Adaptation" can be bought from the Raiders Guys website for $20. It's every bit as amazing as you'd imagine - and it comes with an awesome commentary.
ReplyDeleteI can't express how much I love these Bond episodes.
ReplyDeleteI love Patrick's weird little playlet at the end, with Bond bitching about being called a divorcée instead of a widower.

Also, Anya does mention Tracy in The Spy Who Loved Me. It's one of those rare moments where Moore acts like a human being instead of a creepy oversexed quip machine.
Sorry about the strange double post.
DeleteA Better Tomorrow II destroys the first one. Definitely don't let the first one deter you from seeing it.
ReplyDeleteAs hilarious as the Lazenby impressions were, the Natalie Portman impression cracked me up the most. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteExcellent podcast as always, gentlemen. Accent game is on point.
ReplyDeleteI love Mike's British accent, I actually wish that is how I sound
ReplyDeleteI just watched this movie (I only heard this episode, but haven't watched it yet) - I had to laugh at the puns, I'm sorry. But I do understand what is silly about them.
