  1. You guys have brought a whole series of horror films to my attention that were not at all on my radar, and I am so grateful. Can't wait to check these out!

I don't know if you were going for this Erich, but your new song makes me feel like I've been given a new early Beatles song. Too high praise? haha Maybe but I really dug it.

Victor Crowley is showing 2 hours from me this week and I'm so sad I can't make it. Hope it gets another theatrical release!

    1. Wow. Thanks. I'm thrilled you dug the song. Early in the recording it felt like an '80s college radio tune so I leaned into that.

It's always thrilling as a horror fan to find a new batch of great movies to dig into. These Amicus titles were a major revelation for me this SMM. Looking to share the love!

  2. Some of the Amicus films can be found on YouTube if anyone wants to check them out. This month I've watched Asylum and Dr. Terror's House of Horrors on there.

    1. It's a fine place to start with these movies. Now that I've seen Amicus in both 240p and Blu-ray formats, I'm happy to spend the money on the proper releases. I can't say enough good things about the Scream Factory Tales from the Crypt / Vault of Horror double feature.

    2. Oh I agree. Just thought I'd mention it so those not overly familiar with these movies could get a taste.

And I also agree that the Tales/Vault Blu-ray is a treasure (I own the UK version).

  3. re Tales of Halloween commentary

I consider myself a pretty long watching and experienced horror lover but there are so many references in Tales of Halloween that the ones Patrick got that come up on the commentary that I missed that make me love it even more so the commentary is a must is what I'm saying

    2. I'll have to DEFINITELY listen to Patrick's ToH commentary then.

And yeah, glad you got the coded message hidden in my song. It was a lot of effort to avoid an unpleasant conversation, but I think we should just be friends.

    1. Sorry. Here, I'll try:

      Thor...Niels...Fejerskov...Jensen?

      Did I get it right?

    2. Yeah spot on. You even got the soft e in Fejerskov, which is really hard for nonnative speakers.

    2. There is no doubt that this film entertains. As an Amicus anthology, I would rate ASYLUM or THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD higher, however. The third story, about the wacky clairvoyant, was the one that stood out. The light tone of that story reflects the overall vibe of FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE.

  7. Severin films is releasing a box set with all these films in the month of December if anyone is looking to pick up the whole set at once.

  8. Not gonna lie, this is new territory for me, not sure I've ever even heard of this stuff, but I'm looking forward to checking it out. A box set sounds fantastic, adding it to my christmas list. Caught up on some of the recent podcasts tonight, we've been really spoiled lately, feeling fantastic. Time to finish strong this weekend, lot's of movies to watch before November 1st.
