  4. I caught early screenings of Spider-Verse & Bumblebee this past weekend. One is among of my favorite movies of the year and the other is set in the 80s

  5. My Christmas wish is to have lunch with Tig Notaro and Wahlberg and just listen to them talk to each other about anything.

  6. Oh, is this going to be full of Christmas recommendations?!? Because all I have new lined up so far is Santa Buddies (2009) and Beethoven's Christmas Adventure (2011).

    1. Oh, wait. I did get Miracle on 34th Street on Blu. Looking forward to that, as I haven't seen it since I was a wee one.

  7. Mr. Riske I have a moment for you. I'm an American writer/director and sometimes actor living and working in Brussels, Belgium. I was on set tonight (my tonight) with a small featured role on one of the next Hallmark Channel movies (a Valentine's Day movie) with... you guessed it, Ms. Chabert here in Belgium. ("Love, Romance, and Chocolate")
I'm a long time listener and was listening on my way to set... I usually only post during ScaryMovie month (Patrick was kind enough to read my review of Jennifer's Body on air one year)... but I couldn't pass this up.
I played your desire/prediction for her and she laughed very hard.
(I have a pic of her listening to it, but she was unsure if Hallmark would be okay with it or not... I'm back on set with her next week so here's hoping.)
    Hope this makes your day.

  10. There were so many great movie recommendations I wanted to save the list and have it handy, so I made an IMDb list. And here it is if anyone else wants a peek.

Also, as the token Finn, I feel I have to say I approve of Adam's Renny Christmas double feature.

    1. Thanks a bunch Mikko! I'm usually listening while I'm driving, so this helps. Cheers.

    1. I cross my fingers with each viewing that this will be the one where McClane takes the rental car lady up on getting that drink.

  12. Awesome show! Thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks a lot of the laughs and insight. Sometimes I fancy myself knowledgeable on film, and then you geniuses show me how much I have to catch up on it. haha It's all about the journey. Can't wait to watch a bunch of these.

  13. That show was absolutely wonderful! I agree with a few other people and can we please get more of these? I'm sure it's a lot of work for you guys, but the more movies I hear you all talk about the better!

  14. During the filming of Public Enemies in my hometown Crown Point, Indiana. (Location of the infamous Dillinger jailhouse escape) I was yelled off the film set during my afternoon jog.

Oblivious of a film crew, or that Johnny depo was in town for that matter, my jogging route takes me through the town square past the old jailhouse. While rolling film I guess, An angry man with megaphone and headset screamed at me while I ran past.

I'd hoped that somehow during the escape scene in Public enemies (a period piece set in the 30s) you could catch me in the background in modern workout attire running by.

    1. They shot it on digital. My point is no one should have yelled at you.

    2. I don't get it. Either way dont they call for a closed set so people don't inadvertently wander into frame?

Someone should have told this crew man that as he was none too pleased to see me

  15. I'm so happy I've found people who appreciate Die Hard 2 as much as I do. Part of it's nostalgia, but I would honestly rank the first 3 Die Hard movies as 3 of my all-time favorites. I make 2 an annual tradition, much like the first one. It's such a well-constructed action movie that never gets the credit it deserves (even if it does play a seemingly endless loop of Let It Snow over the credits).

  16. If Adam and Patrick ran rival movie theaters directly across the street from each other, I would actually have to move to Chicago for that. That would be like some Prince vs. Morris Day stuff.

  17. This episode was fantastic and I'd love to hear a Junesploitation and Scary Movie Month themed version.

  18. I would just like to say thank you for the compact downloads. Too many podcasts are extremely inflated data hogs that murder those of us with caps. You guys and Maron are the gold standard in offering good audio quality with low MBs. That may not matter to a lot of people, but it matters a lot to some of us.
