  1. Great podcast as always fellas! I hate to be that guy but you're never going to see Gamera in a Godzilla movie. Gamera was actually created by a rival studio to Toho and has never been part of the Godzilla universe, as such Legendary doesn't have any rights to the character. I just don't want JB holding out for something that will never come.

    1. So you are saying that my childhood memories of Godzilla fighting Gamera are all bullshit? Maybe I just remember fighting my action figures? Next, you are going to tell me that Godzilla never fought Mr. Potato Head.

  2. This was an interesting podcast to listen to. I agreed with all of the criticisms of the film, but didn't manage to get to the point of enjoyment that you two seemed to have. It is definitely satisfying while its happening, but I just wish that we could either remove half the cast of this movie or make even one human emotion matter. Also, I thought the exact same thing as JB in regards to Kyle Chandler. How is he the leasing man of this movie?

  4. The Perfection is easily one of the dumbest, nonsensical, and sloppiest films I've seen so far this year. The acting is atrocious, the editing is cliched, and the CG is dodgy. I know you're all fans of Asian horror (I am too), but Park Chan-wook this is not.

Film making critiques aside, I have some huge issues with the film morally speaking. I won't go into it, but I would strongly encourage you to read some of the articles written by women about The Perfection in light of the #metoo movement. I'm not saying I entirely agree/disagree with said articles, but there are a lot of intriguing talking points being made.

  5. I swear I saw Godzilla (Gojira!) fight Gamera as well, but maybe it was just in my dreams.

  7. Jesus, Patrick, just enjoy a movie for once ya nitpickin' bastid. Already complaining about "bending over backwards" for a movie that hasn't come out yet.

  8. Also, the "you gotta be fucking kidding me" happens when they are In Antarctica Outpost 32. Outpost 31 was where THE THING took place.

  9. I haven't seen the movie so I may be completely off here, but the reveal of human voice ma imply that: godzilla may learn to speak/understands us or that there is a human with godzilla (?) would any of that fit as an explenation for the dramatic reveal?
