  1. If people are looking for a female led action flick, i recommend Everly, with Salma Hayek

    1. "Long Kiss Goodnight" is my go to female led action flick. But Atomic Blonde is creeping up the list the more I rewatch it. Not seen Everly yet but may have to check it out,

  2. Such a fun show! The Guy’s choice award stuff had me losing it at work haha.

Also, I’m glad you guys mentioned the whole
blu-ray’s not starting up where you left off. It’s funny because it always annoyed me and it came up in a post in a movie group I’m in on Facebook just last week. Basically it really sounds like a combo of the studio who put out the Blu-ray and the your blu-Ray player in what determines if it picks up where it left off.

Oh and Adam, you’re right, those Universal
blu-ray’s have to be made by Satan himself.

  3. Guess I'm going to have to finally watch Casino sometime this week. I've seen bits and pieces of it, but never in it's entirety. Our pot dealer back in high school, who always insisted that we hang out a bit (dammit!), had Scarface, Goodfellas, or Casino on repeat all the time. It's funny looking back how much he was a walking "pot dealer" stereotype. Hahaha...

  4. As of today, Absentia is streaming on Amazon Prime, you should check it out Patrick. I got to see it 2011 when it was, basically, the only feature in a little horror festival someone had put together in Buffalo, and I was really impressed. Flanigan really does a lot with verrrry little.

  5. I dunno, Atomic Blonde was pretty good. It was definitely made with a John Wick mold.

    1. It had moments that worked for me. I wish it were more fun, but that's subjective of course.

  6. Mike Flanagan made legit good Ouija movie. Give this guy a big budget once just to see what he can do.

  7. Age of Innocence is really great. It moves just as fast as any Scorsese movie and has crazy good cinematography and art direction. It’s one that shows off all the more European side of Scorsese like when he’s always talking about directors and stuff you normally might not associate with him, like when he talks about Visconti or Powell and Pressburger. In ways it’s an outlier for him but now really.

  8. Dr. Sleep: Read the book beforehand. There is definitely more midichlorian type stuff there. And certainly much less about the Overlook. So in that way I appreciated the film more. The film was also darker. I had seen the trailer before I watched the film so already had the characters in my head while watching. I love when that happens and it works. Like the Michael Keaton Batman. The whole time I read it Fegurson was Rose to a T. Yeah, she can Trembley me any night in her evil yoga pants.

Motherless Brooklyn: Look, I thought I was going to hate it. It's a collection of NY tropes presented in a pretty self-indulgent way. Ed clearly pulled all of his NYC acting strings to land such an amazing cast. I thought he was going to overact (he does) and then somehow in the middle it just won me over in spite of itself. Now I think I might just love it because of it's flaws.
