Although I missed most of FThisMovie Fest with work, I was able to join in for the final two films. (I own copies of both of them by chance.) It was a lot of fun to interact with everyone on Twitter.
I believe that a film like Action Jackson plays much better today than it did back in the 1980s. At that time it was just another action flick in a wave of action films coming out. I watched it on HBO several times but did not remember anything about it. Viewing Action Jackson in 2021, it screams 1980s in way that most actions films of that time do not. I have had the same experience with certain 1980s horror films that are more interesting because of their 1980s excesses.
