    1. Great podcast guys. As an English student who always goes to bat for genre fiction I’ve heard so many “formula is lazy” takes I want to scream.

One thing I’m genuinely curious about, specifically because I’m an English student is why you both don’t consider the film to be satirical? I’m finishing up a theory class right now so I’ve become used to questioning whether I know what any word actually means but I still felt out of the loop during that part of the discussion. So Im wondering what aspect of Satire you think is missing.

As for good movies on Apple TV, and once again I feel like a douchey college student choosing this, but the Joel Coen/Denzel Washington Macbeth is so fucking good.

    2. I shouldn’t have said that there’s NO satire, since “Jaws 27” and some of the Cafe ‘80s stuff would count. But what they’re doing with Trump Biff is parody. Satire points out flaws in order to criticize, while parody just copies an established form for the sake of humor.

    4. Ah that makes total sense, thanks for taking the time to respond. Hope I didn’t come of as pedantic, I really think this was a special episode.

    6. Portraying Biff-Trump as a sociopathic rapist who achieved all his gains by cheating wasn't satire? (For the time, of course. Now, we call it docudrama.) :P

  3. I wish Rob could have also borrowed Adam's "better or worse than these movies" bit because I think it would have helped highlight that even though BttF 2 and 3 suffer in comparison to the original, I think both are so also so much better than so many other movies. I'll take lesser BttF over a lot of other stuff, and Rob and Patrick both clearly seem to agree with that, I just think this might have been another way to illustrate it.

  4. You guys should've recorded a Part III podcast back-to-back then spliced in little bits of audio at the end.
