ReplyDeleteFantastic episode. I should give the movie a rewatch. I watched it in 2020, borrowing it from my public library when I couldn't go into the building and the staff put my books in the trunk. I didn't enjoy it and had a lot of the same problems cited in the episode. I'll bet pandemic anxiety had a lot to do with my feelings about the movie.
ReplyDeleteI saw this when it came out, and liked it a lot, but don't remember much except for them walking on the ocean surface (a la 20000 Leagues Under the Sea) and Stewart running around in her underwear. It was pretty great to hear Rob speak passionately about the themes of the movie, most which I hadn't reflected on when first watching. I'll certainly visit this movie again sometime soon.
