I would encourage you to stick with it on Studio Ghibli movies, Adam. There’s still lots of great stuff to experience throughout the Ghibli catalog, even if Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke weren’t your jam. The only thing I specifically want to warn you about in case you aren’t familiar is that Grave of the Fireflies, although an excellent movie that is more grounded in reality and less fantastical, is achingly sad. It’s about the struggle characters face during WW II in Japan. Otherwise, I hope you will watch more and report back!
ReplyDeleteI’m happy to say that the Volcano Toaster is still proudly on display. Added a Volcano Laserdisc behind it, so it’s a nice looking setup. My buddy Sutton pulled me aside the last time we had a party, asking me what’s with all the Volcano stuff?
ReplyDeleteYou guys definitely need to watch Porco Rosso. Do the English Dub so you can get that sweet Michael Keaton performance!!
I agree with Porco Rosso, it's my favorite. I never listened to the dub though, it's usually original or the french dub. I didn't know keaton was doing the voice
