As a kid I really liked this film, but it does not hold up for me at all now. However, like Doug I still love The Goonies. Again as for Monster Squad, even as a kid I wished the Van Helsing prologue was the movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast Dracu Doug and Tickler Pramboy
ReplyDeleteAnother film I now want to rewatch
On a technical front. It might be just me but for some reason this podcast has lots of reverb or a weird background voice echo.
Cheers
Yes there is. We're working out some new software issues, but because this one had to be turned around so quickly to get out this morning I didn't have time to mess with it. Very frustrating, but we are aware of it.
DeleteI'm pretending they're recording in a concert hall with an audience in rapt silence. :)
DeleteThe "Prairie Home Companion" of film podcasts.
DeleteLol Sol. That's exactly what I was thinking too.
DeleteThe Hemispheric Doppelgangers strikes again.
You may have had some bad experiences with Horror podcasts (and I agree there are a LOT of crappy ones), but I highly recommend The Faculty Of Horror.
ReplyDeleteWhat can say I but thank you. Ive just finished watching it now and I cant say much because you covered it all in the podcast. But what I can say is ive watched so many deaths and murders and mean spirited movies for #ScaryMovieMonth that to see a movie like this with a beating heart and a love of a genre was amazing. I was starting to get a bit urrrggghhhh with all the killing and this felt like a breathe of fresh air
ReplyDeleteThere are so many posters and T shirts in the background you know this movie was made with love and I loved it
Cheers
I'm a big fan of the podcast. No other podcast dares to reference Professor Lasky.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, and there's the Mike Pomaro horror series podcast still to come. Three podcasts in one week? This really is a special Scary Movie Month. :-)
ReplyDeleteCrazy awesome podcast, dudes! You both always make the conversation seem to go by so fast.Chemistry is off the charts...
ReplyDelete...great way to start the day.
Hey Patrick and Doug - thanks for the love! Always spreading the word and supporting the site. Btw - there are many clues I have purposely laid out in previous posts to show if I am either HE or SHE. Can you figure it out!?
ReplyDelete(kidding, I definitely haven't done that, but I am HE for future reference.) Keep up the great work!
I just realised there was something about Frankenstien. Something I recognised but could not place. And I just got it
ReplyDeleteFrankenstien looks just like Evil Quentin Tarantino in From Disk Till Dawn
Dusk till dawn. Sorry typo again
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast guys - I love Dracudoug - are he and Doug related or is that just a coincidence?
ReplyDeleteI love Monster Squad - a friend of my parents' had The Movie Channel (they were RICH) and they gave me a tape with that and Spaceballs - I'm pretty sure watching them both dozens of times helped make me the man I am today.
I picked up the blu-ray last year and I was surprised by how well it holds up - yes all the stupid points you discussed are stupid and the main kid especially can be kinda grating at times but I still kinda loved it. It's great that it's a horror movie that's definitely for kids but doesn't pull any punches like something like that would today.
I was going to watch it again for SMM but alas I'm just not going to get to it - been a bad month for watching movies but I'm glad the rest of the gang (and a lot of seemingly new "faces" like Pubes Crotchdubs) have picked up the slack in a big way!
That was awesome guys. My love for Doug knows no bounds.
ReplyDeleteNot only Doug, but also DracuDoug, CaliforniDoug and now there seems to be some beat-boxing from Doug-E-Fresh-E-Doug.
Love it all. Such a great way to start my work day with some proper chuckles on my drive to work.
There's love for Patrick too. That's a given.
I'll second that. Doug. DracuDoug. LA Doug. And Doug e fresh and the get Fresh Krew. All are brilliant on the podcast.
ReplyDeleteUpdate on Tickler pramboy anagram
ReplyDeleteI just did a anagram maker online of my full name and this came out
anagrams to
'I am malcontent head shrinker.'
I can roll with that
