ReplyDeleteSo good
DeleteI second.
DeleteDid I spill my cup of pee!
DeleteGrumpy Old Men & Grumpier Old Men Christmas movie pods...love those movies. Also, it's a great comedy sequel.
ReplyDeleteGrumpier Old Men is funny. Another one - A Very Brady Sequel. Funny and maybe better than the first.
DeleteJoan Cusack is so fine in 'Values'. Not only does she look fantastic, but her acting is perfect for what she's going for. I'm so glad that you guys didn't like the first movie either. I never understood why it seemed so beloved back in the mid-90s. I always preferred the sequel, it's much more fun. The first one is just confusing with Fester's storyline. Not an ideal way to establish a character or a universe.
ReplyDeleteI love how you guys pointed out the fact that all of these 90s remakes of TV shows essentially have the same type of plot. Even Beverly Hillbillies and the Brady Bunch are about chasing money to save the family or characters in the movie. There was another one I thought of but I can't remember right now. Raul Julia is the best in these movies, that is all.
Is that Viggo's henchman from Ghostbusters 2 as one of the camp coordinators?
Wait, is 'Scrooged' beloved? Since when?
Christmas movies are such a mixed bag, hard to find one that isn't spectacularly mediocre. Love the Grumpy Old Men movies. I vote for a Scrooged podcast. I'd love to hear you guys rip into that one!
My favourite Christmas movie is the Muppets Family Christmas, a made for TV special that is nearly impossible to get, unless you pay lots on ebay for the UK DVD. We had it for years taped onto VHS, and we watched it a couple times over the Christmas holidays. It was the last muppet movie before Jim Henson's death, and so his cameo at the end of it is rather touching.
ReplyDeleteThere is a low quality upload on Youtube
Also, there is a NA DVD release, but they cut out many of the Christmas songs over copyright issues. Buyer beware!
DeleteThe big problem with this getting a decent release, is that it has the Muppets, Seseme Street, Fraggle Rock, and Muppet Babies (as actual puppets instead of being animated), and these characters are owned by different companies.
Of course "88minutes" isn't 88 minutes long, that would make sense and nothing about that film makes any sense!
ReplyDeletePacino's Dye might be my favorite screen name ever. 88 Minutes is the worst. Then I saw Righteous Kill...
DeleteSuggestion for the holiday show. You could always do the holiday classic Reindeer Games!
ReplyDeleteThey actually already did a commentary for that one!
Deletetotally forgot about that one...
DeleteHow about Santa with Muscles or Ernest Saves Christmas, can't go wrong there.
I love this podcast. It's not involved man.
ReplyDeleteA suggestion for the next holiday episode, Mixed Nuts with Steve Martin and Adam Sandler!
ReplyDeleteLove it. This is such a Scary Movie Month ramp-up kind of show that it lets me fantasize that we're back in September again.
ReplyDeleteSanta's Slay? You could do 45 minutes on the first 10 minutes alone.
ReplyDeleteDon't poke the bear. You will not like what I have to say about Scrooged.
DeleteUnless you really like it, I'd say that's unlikely. I do not like Scrooged. Like, at all.
