  1. Child's Play 2 (1990)

When googly eyes meme goes too far

  2. Final day, last 24 hours of #SMM. Let's make it count, people!

Luca Guadagnino's SUSPIRIA (2018, 152 min.) in theaters for the first time.

Occasionally entertaining. Mostly up-its-own-ass highfalutin, unnecessary Argento remake.

    or

Tilda Swinton's Peter Sellers-topping dreams finally achieved.

    1. Oops, "occasionally" and "entertaining" should have a hyphen between them. Otherwise it's an eight-word review instead of "seven." Sorry! :-O

  3. BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1992, 86 min.) on Blu-ray for the first time.

Donald Sutherland kicks butt, saves otherwise-mediocre flick.

    or

Even in HS, Hilary Swank was androgynous.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Mark Steven Johnson's GHOST RIDER (2007, 104 min.) on Crackle for the first time.

    "Daredevil"-caliber bad, but Cage's having a ball.

    2. I have an annual Halloween gathering, usually mid month, and like to have something on the TV during. Last year, some friends with kids were over, so I put on Nosferatu (no gore, cursing, sex, etc)...it made their 6 year old cry. Murnau...still got it.

    Or
My loves and dislikes of Italian horror.

*A personal note: There are many firsts associated with Black Sunday. Most importantly, it was my introduction to Mario Bava. It was also my first Netflix rental nine years ago and the first step in a long exploration of Italian horror. Revisiting it simultaneously took me back in time and reminded me of how much I have changed. I liked Black Sunday more this viewing, but it is far from being my favorite Bava film.
