  1. Patrick, you have seen Grave. That's the original French title for Raw.

  3. Great show guys! I was on the fence about renting this one once I heard about it, but after listening to the show...I'm still not sure.

    2. I need a new one. I've had 40 years with this bullshit name.

  7. I am so glad I'm not the only one and you guys managed to articulate and expand on a lot of my thoughts about it. Reading some of the festival reviews and letterboxd reviews has made me think I'm going crazy!

So much love for the first movie and that Scream Factory blu is astounding

    1. Looking back, the festival reviews are even more confusing.

    2. Maybe they think that it's just good that a movie is tackling these issues at all - but as you both point out, 2 of the segments aren't tackling these issues... At all! The first segment does but is incredibly hamfisted and frankly just confusing. I agree that the last is the closest resembling anything like the first movie, but I burst out laughing at your description of it as "Emmett Till wants to kill your baby". This movie is the poopity-pop.

      From a review:
"I never saw Tales from the Hood, but if Tales from the Hood 2 is any indication, I must go back and watch it posthaste — though I wonder if the racial climate of 1995 could have inspired as much righteous anger and caustic satire in writer-directors Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott as today’s does."

I don't even know where to begin with that statement.

    3. That's maybe the first time I've seen "posthaste" in the wild.

  8. This movie was...not good. But I got an extra podcast for it! Great podcast as always.

  9. Hey Adam Riske, you were 100% right about Hell Fest. Just saw it bc of your rec and it was kind of great. Only real complaint is not enough Tony Todd.
