  1. That's a bummer that Yesterday wasn't a better experience for you, Adam. I felt like that movie had the makings of a creative and clever concept that could have been both interesting and a lot of fun. It's a shame they didn't do more with it.

    1. Hi John! The movie was most successful at being fun and charming. After I saw the trailer, I had many questions about the implications of the plot and most weren't addressed. Doesn't make it a bad movie, but I was a little let down based on my own expectations.

    2. Cool! I'm sure I'll likely still check it out at some point. I was just hoping that it maybe had top ten potential, but now I'm not so sure, haha. We'll see!

    3. I think most people expected Yesterday to explore more of the world, and were disappointed when it didn't. When i don't think it was ever the intention of the filmmakers to explore that, but just use it as a starting point for a love story.

What i didn't like about it is a part of the relationship between lily james and himesh patel. At the beginning of the movie, everytime somebody imply that they're together, she always quickly scoff and say "no, never, you're crazy". But at the end, she complain to him that he never made a move on her, but never acknowledge her own attitude in all of this

Besides that, the movie was sweet and i got what the trailer showed me

    4. Call me old-fashioned, but Lily James deserves to be courted like the angel she is.

  2. I love how much Adam is on the 90's train. I'm in! I'm going to have to find/rent/buy this movie somewhere in the next couple days. I don't think I've seen it, but I suspect it'll be one of those "oh yeah, I've seen this before" movies

    1. Oh wait. I though this was Dangerous Minds, but it's another movie.

Also, by "I've seen this before" I didn't mean a movie/trope I've seen too many time. Rather I meant that sense when you watch a movie that you feel like you might have seen it a long time in the past, but barely remember.

    2. No joke, I've told a few people this week about Higher Learning and most of them thought I meant Dangerous Minds.

  3. The Darkest Side of the Night is awesome. Meet Me Halfway by Kenny Loggins from Over The Top always reminds me of The Darkest Side of the Night. As a kid I must have be watching a lot of Over The Top and Friday the 13th Part VIII.

  4. What is "Higher..."? What is "Learning..."?

The answer to both is F This Movie.
