  3. I'm listening to this podcast and loving it! I actually have not yet watched Creepshow 2, may need to throw that on in the next day or two!

  6. I'm generally opposed to YouTube reaction videos, but I'm starting to think Erika would have a lot of success in that realm.

  7. Yay for 'Horror of Party Beach' shout-out. It also became my absolute favorite MST3K episode. If you haven't seen their treatment of it, I highly recommend it.

  8. Wow this podcast was just for me today. A few nights ago I watched Creepshow 2 for the first time by myself. Longtime Creepshow fan, first time 2-er. I was a little overwhelmed afterwards and couldn't wrangle a joke out of all the thoughts swirling around my head about terrible human behavior. Thank you two for your service in helping me process and move through this chapter. (blub)

  9. I can hold my breath for a long time!!!! This was a fun podcast and as always the comradely between you and Adam Riske is palpable.

The gargoyle segment in Tales From The Darkside is definitely my favorite story in the anthology and the ending is so tragic. Also, James Remear is one of my favorite character actors and it's always great to see him in anything.

  10. I loved this podcast and thought the banter was hysterical. I do have to stick up for one of my favorite segments, The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verill.
I know it is easy to pick on Stephen King since he is not a professional actor. The story is broader comedy than anything else in the film. I still think that he gives his character real emotional weight. I am genuinely invested in the sad plight of this lonely man.
His last hope hope is that he won't screw up his own suicide. This is some dark stuff at the end of a fairly silly section. Still, from the first time I saw this until my latest rewatching it is the one that sticks with me.

  11. I had a weird visceral reaction remembering sneaking up late at night in high school to watch the 'Tales from the Darkside' TV show. Good times.

    1. It has the most terrifying opening and I've never been able to understand why.

  12. Tales from the Darkside definitely has that 1990s cinematography. Its like the frames drip with velvet or something, I Love it. Lover's Vow is so good. Definitely fits in that time period of tragic romances with just unexplainable weirdness.

  13. If anyone has time could you post the two lists here? I can't remember the placements and cant listen again until later today.

  14. The Jordy Verrill suicide is for some reason the most disturbing image to me from all the movies. Maybe because it's so cartoonish but ends so bleak? Kind of like Joe Dante's twilight zone movie segment.

Also, I will say I enjoy the chief woodenhead segment. I don't know why. But full disclosure, I'm a virulent racist.

  15. ...jeesh, you guys...I place “The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill” segment of Creepshow just behind Carrie and Misery in the Stephen King film library...different stooks for different spooks, I suppose...

    1. A different popular horror podcast did a show on Creepshow a few weeks ago, and they also ranked Jordy Verrill as their favorite, but they thought the movie would benefit from dropping Tide You Over altogether. I guess the world really is a rainbow.

  17. Just started watching Creepshow 2 (Anthology movies are great to watch during lunch breaks!) Why would you lead with Woodnhead?? That was terrible!

Also, Sam, the dude with the hair, is the same actor that plays Bill Tench on Netflix's Mindhunter.. WHA!?!?
