  1. Shocked to hear Rosie's favorite movie is Lucio Fulci's Zombie 2, sounds like you're raising her right tho. Happy 10 years guys!

    1. Fooled me, I was for sure expecting her to say "New York Ripper"

  2. I honestly haven't seen Avatar since the day it released. I should refresh my memory, but at the same time I remember every beat. It's like the hero's Journey cliffsnotes. But maybe with alcohol....

Also The Rewatchables finally covered Draft Day. In some ways I think it's also a win for F! This Movie.

  5. Wonderful show. I started listening to the show on the fall of 2015. You guys are the only movie podcast I listen to regularly, and I think it really is the effort to not be in the extremes, that you give fair hearings to most films. Even when I disagree with your takes, it’s clearly genuine. FTN’s lack of pretense or irony with movies is one of this site’s great strengths. I have burned out on many shows that take an all or nothing approach or constant need to be ironic. I started gobbling up the back episodes and I remember listening to Avatar Mk. I on a run and being surprised at the evenhanded verdict. I’m so glad you guys are still at this. I know how much work goes into it.

You may or may not know this but the phenomenon that Doug talked about with the two ends of the spectrum being closer to one another rather than opposites is a described in political science as “horseshoe theory,” where the farther along the ideological spectrum you go, rather than being separated, you start coming closer to the other end (like a horseshoe. That’s where the name comes from, see????) It explains why the Soviet Union at it’s worse is not that distinct from Mussolini or Franco or Hitler, despite technically being far left vs far right. I think Doug hit it on the head, that the extreme reactions, where something is either the greatest ever or the worst ever might as well be the same, because they brook no dissent.

Anyway, congrats on 10 years. Thanks for providing a lovely place to hear wonderful discussions.

  6. Awesome episode, guys! Happy 10th, FThisMovie! I really liked how you guys talked about the grind of putting out content as consistently as you have been doing for this past decade.

Lastly, do you think the Last Dance producers really missed an opportunity when they didn't name the documentary "Un-breaka-Bull"?
