It's F This Movie Fest 2021!

Welcome to the party, pal!

Today is the day! F This Movie Fest!

If you're new to the site, here's one more rundown of what you need to know:

1. Secure copies of all six movies, either physically or on streaming.
2. If you're not already doing so, follow F This Movie! on Twitter.
3. Beginning at 10 am CST on Saturday, March 6th, we all start watching the first movie at the same time from the comfort of YOUR OWN HOME and talk about it on Twitter (just tag all of your comments with #fthismoviefest and then follow that hashtag. It's like what Joe Bob does on Shudder, only we were doing it years earlier.) It will be like a running commentary. A conversation. Just like WE'RE ALL IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER!
4. If you have to leave for a movie or can only participate in half the festival or whatever, that's cool! Just check in or out with us on Twitter so we know who's there and when. Hopefully, we can all do the full marathon, but we know that's not easy for everyone.
5. Because of the COVID pandemic, our post-fest podcast plans are up in the air. We have traditionally broadcast a live episode; if that's possible for us to do this year, we'll make it happen. Stay tuned to the @fthismovie Twitter for updates.

Here's today's lineup, celebrating the films of 1988! All times are CST.

  1. Yay! This is a fun year, because Beetlejuice, Willow and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are all new for me. I've been meaning to watch Roger Rabbit, in particular, for a while now. I don't care much for Tim Burton, but considering Beetlejuice is perhaps his best movie, I'm looking forward to watching it.

Action Jackson and They Live I've watched once, a few years ago during Junesploitation and they're both great.

And my twitter is going to get some use! I'll tweet more in the first 30 minutes than I do the rest of the year combined haha.

    Happy Fthismoviefest!

  2. A little off-topic, but since there's no 'Weekend Watching' thread this weekend. I was interviewed by an Associated Press reporter Friday morning when NYC theaters re-opened and I attended a noon showing. Somehow a couple of quotes from my interview made the AP's story (8th and 9th paragraph).

This link is to an Israeli newspaper that for some reason made my two quotes sub-headlines to the AP article's main title. Oops?! :-P
