  2. It's hard to articulate why I enjoyed Don't Look Up. It's not trying to be subtle in any way, and the critiques aren't unique to this era (era) and have been explored with more nuance by other films, but I don't think either of those are necessarily bad things because I agree with the film's viewpoint that the issue is too big to be quiet and polite about it.

    1. I'm going to give it a pass, although I'll probably throw it on eventually. I recently watched The Big Short and didn't like it at all (editing was unnecessarily hectic). However, I did click on Don't Look Up mistakenly in Netflix, and it took several seconds to back out, so I'll be among those counted as "watched it opening weekend" by Netflix.

    2. I still have a few more movies to watch from last year, but so far this is in my top two of the year, along with Pig. I was shocked at your Patrick speak so negatively of it.

  3. Never heard of Old Henry before this pod. Just finished watching it and it's great! Easily in my top 3 of 2021.

  4. One of my most anticipated shows of the year, and it was wonderful. It's great getting recommendations, and I'm looking forward to Old Henry and Riders of Justice.

Every year, without fail, there's an ugly movie that I really liked. I was happy that this year didn't disappoint. The BIG man in SMALL hat movie was kind of fun!
