I've just rewatched all the V/H/S movies and was surprised that I liked the first one a lot more for this viewing. It's definitely got the feel of watching gross liveleak videos or something, not a lot of humor. It works for that one though? Later sequels--even the second--seem to have more humor/camp and I'm torn about it. It worked for me in V/H/S 94 but not in 99.
