It's F This Movie Fest 2025!

Today is the day!!

The wait is over and the day has come to watch six 1998 movies all together on Bluesky!

If you're unfamiliar with F This Movie Fest, it's a day every year where we all watch movies together and talk about them over BlueSky using the #fthismoviefest hashtag. Here's the deal:

1. Secure copies of all six movies! (DVD/Blu-ray/4K, Amazon Prime Video, Apple/Vudu rentals, public libraries, etc.) Try to avoid streaming services that include ads because they will throw off the timecodes.

2. If you're not already doing so, follow F This Movie! on BlueSky (@fthismovie). If you're not already on BlueSky (some of you probably aren't yet), you should sign up! You can quit the very next day if you want -- or, even better, let it stay dormant until next year's F This Movie Fest!

3. Beginning at 10 am today, we all start watching the first movie at the same time from the comfort of YOUR OWN HOME and talk about it on BlueSky (just tag all of your comments with #fthismoviefest). It will be like a running commentary. A conversation. Just like WE'RE ALL IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER! By following the hashtag #fthismoviefest, you hopefully won't miss a single post!

4. This is not a snark fest. We are not making fun of these movies. We love these movies. Even Psycho.

5. If you have to leave for a movie or can only participate in half the festival or whatever, that's cool! Just check in or out with us so we know who's there and when. Hopefully, we can all do the full marathon, but we know that's not easy for everyone. It's a long day! A marathon, not a sprint.

At the end of the fest, we typically do a live show on YouTube recapping the movies, sharing some favorite posts, and answering your questions. Be sure to join us! Details and a link to the show will follow on the day of the fest.

  2. Yeah, bummer this will be first FTM Film Fest l'll miss in its entirety. πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜ Had asked for the day off a month ago, but my boss (nice guy) begged me to not only work the Saturday l had asked for, but to pull a double shift on Sunday to finish the weekly workload on time. Need to sleep all day after work Saturday to have the strength to start working at 3AM Sunday. My paycheck will compensate, but it's sad that 1998 FTMFF goes on w,/o me. Have a blast everybody! πŸ€˜πŸ˜ƒ
