  1. Gentlemanly Warfare is pretty good, and i'm not a fan of Guy Ritchie, even the 'good ones' I don't care

    1. I have skipped most of his later output, but I really liked The Covenant. His King Arthur movie was weird. It has perhaps the decades best score, but when I went back to rewatch, I could only make it a little ways in with all the crazy quick cuts.

BTW Kunider, I remember you mentioning a Quebecois (or maybe French) animated movie that you said was very dear to you when you were young? I might be mistaken and it was a TV show or not animated, but I swear there was something that you were very enthusiastic about a couple of years ago in a weekend open thread. I was looking for options for Cartoons! day. Otherwise I might watch The Plague Dogs, which I'm not sure fits, but I've been wanting to see.

    2. Are you talking about Les Maitres du Temps? AKA Time Masters or The Masters of Time.

Found the complete version on youtube for you. Starts at about 34 minutes

    3. Yes! That was it! Thanks for the link. It looks like the uploaded quality is very good too.
I was googling through lists of Quebec animated movies, but finally it's from France.

    4. France makes great animation, they did create the magazine Heavy Metal in France, and Moebius (Jean Giraud) was designer on The 5th Element.

Another favorite of mine is Le Roi et L’Oiseau (The King and the Mockingbird)

  2. Sudden Death was on my short list to watch today because it's been a long time. But after hearing the enthusiasm for Maximum Risk (which is one of the few JCVD movies I have yet to see), I think I might go with that.

Great podcast guys! Glad that AMovieGuy was back on. Despite being a Canadian, the Blackhawks were always my favourite team, and they were pretty good in the mid-'90s. Pittsburgh was the other team because the team owner produced the movie.

    1. I had no idea about the producer. The more you know!

    2. The owner's wife has the "story by" credit. Die Hard in a hockey arena was her idea!

  3. 2019 for my birthday I held a movie marathon in my basement with an open door policy where friends came and went all day.
    The lineup was :
    The Goonies
    Raiders of The Lost Ark
    The Battery
    Attack The Block
    Edge Of Tomorrow
    Sudden Death
    Cheap Thrills

Sudden Death rules, and that was a fun day.
